John Angus has had an extensive career in Politics spanning more then 25 years. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly for St. Norbert, and a long standing City of Winnipeg Councillor. He served in various posts at City Hall, including Deputy Mayor, Chairman of the Alternative Services Delivery Committee and Chairman of the Public Works Committee. John finished his political career in 2006 as Chief of Staff in Western Canada for the President of the Canadian Treasury Board. John has served on many boards and commissions including the Winnipeg Enterprises Corporation, and the Victoria Hospital Board.

Educated at the University of Winnipeg and Red River Community College, John has a broad business background, including having served as the Vice President of Comcheq, a national company providing computerized payroll services. He and his wife Janice recently sold their international software company, which provides medical software to physicians and clinics across Canada and the United States.

John has had his Brokers license and owned John Angus Realty for more then 30 years. John and his wife Janice live in the Lac Du Bonnet area.
